8th Grade Jr EYBL Open

Parent Information Page provides families with important information regarding team requirements, expectations, schedules, player development, and available support resources.

Our program is committed to developing successful student-athletes. Every player is expected to demonstrate discipline, consistency, accountability, teamwork, and leadership in basketball, academics, and everyday life.

TEAM DUES

Team dues will reflect the high level of coaching, training, competition, resources, support, and player development each athlete will receive. Payment plans will be available to help families manage the cost. Our goal is to build a team that stays together and competes for the next four years—through high school graduation and each player’s transition to college or other opportunities. After a player completes one full season with the team, no additional team dues will be required. By that time, our fundraising, sponsorship, and partnership-support platform will be fully operational and designed to cover those expenses.

Parents will receive:

The total amount of player dues
Payment deadlines and installment options
A clear explanation of what the dues cover
Financial reports showing how team dues were used
Information showing the matching funds and additional financial support provided by our partners
Updates regarding sponsorships and other resources used to support the team

Georgia Stars 2031 Gold 8th Grade Jr EYBL Open is committed to financial transparency and responsible management. Families will be able to see how their contributions, combined with matching funds and partner support, are being used to benefit the players and operate the program.

Final dues, payment schedules, and a complete explanation of all included expenses will be announced.

PRACTICE TIMES

Practice schedules, locations, arrival times, and schedule changes will be communicated to parents in advance.

Players are expected to:

Arrive on time and prepared to practice
Wear the required practice attire
Bring all required basketball equipment
Maintain a positive and coachable attitude
Give maximum effort throughout practice
Notify the coaching staff if they will be late or absent

Parents should notify the coaching staff as early as possible when a player cannot attend. Consistent attendance is essential to individual development, team chemistry, preparation, and playing time.

The official practice schedule and locations will be announced.

ACADEMIC STANDARDS AND GRADES

Academic achievement is a major priority of the Georgia Stars 2031 Gold 8th Grade Jr EYBL Open program. We are developing student-athletes, and school responsibilities must be handled before basketball privileges.

Players are expected to maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA and demonstrate consistent effort, good attendance, and appropriate behavior at school.

Parents may be required to submit:

Report cards
Progress reports
Updates regarding missing assignments
Information concerning disciplinary or attendance issues

If a player’s grades fall below the team standard, the player may be required to participate in academic support, tutoring, or supervised homework sessions. Continued academic problems may affect practice, travel, or game participation until improvement is demonstrated.

BIRTH CERTIFICATES AND ELIGIBILITY

A clear copy of every player’s official birth certificate will be required to verify age and tournament eligibility.

Parents must submit all requested eligibility documents by the established deadline. A player may not be allowed to participate in certain tournaments or team events until all required documents have been received and verified.

Additional documentation may be requested based on tournament, league, Nike circuit, or national governing-body requirements.

PLAYER GOALS

Each player will establish academic, athletic, and personal-development goals for the season.

Goals may include:

Improving grades or maintaining a specific GPA
Developing shooting and ball-handling skills
Improving strength, speed, conditioning, and mobility
Becoming a stronger defender and teammate
Developing leadership and communication skills
Improving discipline, confidence, and accountability
Preparing for future basketball and educational opportunities

Coaches and program leaders will help players establish measurable goals, review their progress, and make adjustments throughout the season. Players will be expected to take ownership of their development.

HOMEWORK AND ACADEMIC SUPPORT

Schoolwork comes before basketball. Players are responsible for completing assignments on time and communicating when they need assistance.

Parents are expected to monitor their player’s academic progress and notify team leadership if school-related challenges could affect participation.

Georgia Stars 2031 Gold intends to provide resources that may include:

Dedicated homework time
Academic progress monitoring
Tutoring and educational support
Study-skills development
Goal-setting and accountability
College and career exposure

Players must learn how to effectively manage school, basketball, family responsibilities, and personal development.

INDIVIDUAL WORKOUTS

Players will be expected to complete assigned individual workouts outside of regular team practices. Team practice alone is not enough to reach the level required for national competition.

Individual workouts may include:

Shooting and finishing
Ball-handling
Footwork
Defensive development
Strength and conditioning
Speed and agility
Mobility and flexibility
Injury prevention and recovery

Players will also have access to a national fitness center for additional workouts and physical development. The fitness center’s name, locations, available hours, and access requirements will be announced later.

Consistency, effort, and accountability during individual workouts will be important parts of each player’s development.

COMPLETE TRAINING CAMPUS

Georgia Stars 2031 Gold 8th Grade Jr EYBL Open will have access to a complete training campus designed to support players on and off the basketball court.

The campus will provide resources and programming that may include:

Team practices
Individual basketball development
Strength and conditioning
Speed, agility, and mobility training
Recovery and injury prevention
Academic support and homework assistance
Leadership and character development
Goal-setting and accountability
Parent meetings and team activities
Technology and future-career exposure

Through our partnership with VTEC, players will also be introduced to career and educational opportunities involving artificial intelligence, drones, robotics, autonomous vehicles, cybersecurity, skilled trades, and other emerging technologies.

is building a complete development program that gives athletes the coaching, facilities, education, discipline, exposure, and support needed to succeed in basketball, academics, and life. Additional information regarding the campus location, available facilities, schedules, and access requirements will be announced.

PARENT PROFESSIONALISM AND CONDUCT

Georgia Stars 2031 Gold 8th Grade Jr EYBL Open is committed to maintaining a professional, positive, and development-focused environment. Parents and guardians play a major role in the success, reputation, and stability of the program. Their conduct can strengthen the team—or negatively affect players, coaches, families, and the organization.

For this reason, we are interviewing and evaluating parents and guardians as well as players. Selection is based on the complete fit of the player and family. A talented athlete may not be accepted into the program if a parent or guardian demonstrates disruptive, disrespectful, or unprofessional behavior.

Parents and guardians are expected to:

Represent Georgia Stars 2031 Gold 8th Grade Jr EYBL Open professionally at games, practices, tournaments, hotels, team events, and all other program-related activities
Encourage all players without criticizing, coaching, or confronting them from the stands
Respect officials, opponents, coaches, players, tournament staff, and other families
Allow the coaching staff to coach without interference from the sidelines
Address concerns privately, respectfully, and through the proper communication process
Avoid confronting coaches immediately before, during, or after games
Follow the team’s established waiting period before requesting a discussion about a game-related concern
Avoid creating conflict through group messages, social media, gossip, or conversations with other parents
Keep internal team matters, player information, and coaching decisions confidential
Support attendance, punctuality, academics, dues, travel requirements, and player accountability
Understand that playing time, positions, lineups, strategy, and team roles are determined by the coaching staff
Remember that every parent’s conduct directly reflects upon their child and Georgia Stars 2031 Gold

Disruptive behavior—including verbal abuse, threats, repeated confrontations, public criticism, sideline coaching, social-media attacks, harassment, or attempts to divide the team—will not be tolerated.

Depending on the seriousness or frequency of the behavior, the program may issue a warning, restrict a parent’s access to practices or events, suspend the family’s participation, or remove the player and family from Georgia Stars 2031 Gold.

Our goal is to build a winning culture based on professionalism, communication, accountability, teamwork, and mutual respect. Every family selected for Georgia Stars 2031 Gold 8th Grade Jr EYBL Open must be prepared to understand, support, and uphold that standard.
